about Satanism in his style Mr Tartikoff himself brought the incident up fix years afterward Mr Tartikoff was born on Jan 13 1919 in Freeiuirt NY a I-ong Island sulntrb of New York City lie attended Yale where he played varsity bast-tall was captain of tlu: fetu-ing team and co-edit-etl the campus humor magazine with Garry Trudeau the carlixinist After receiving his bachelor's degree in 1970 Mr Tartikoff tixik a job with a Comu-cticut advertising agency and two years later he became director of advertising and promotion lx1 WTNH-TV the ABC affiliate in New Haven In 1973 he landed a similar job at WLS-TV tlie AllC-owned station in Chicago He spent every vacation in Los Angeles kinking for a job in net-wix-k TV He found one when Fred Silver-man then head of ABCs programming diviskm hired him in 1976 as the director of dramatic devckipment Mr Tartikoff remained with ABC only until September 1977 when he left to become director of comedy programming at NBC Mr Tartikoff is survived by crash on the Daniel Boone tarkway left one woman dead over the weekend will face more charges now that a second woman has died as a result of the crash Hazel Thompson 83 of Buckhom died Tuesday at the University of Kentucky Hospital She was a passenger in a car driven by Geraldine Abner age unavailable when a car driven by Reginald Stidham 23 of Richmond crossed the center line and struck the Abner car Sunday night police said Mrs Thompson's daughter Hazel Abner 57 of Buckhom was also a passenger in the Abner car and was pronounced dead at the scene Another passenger Kellyn Abner 11 was treated at UK and dismissed Geraldine Abner was not Police said Stidham left the scene of the accident and later was arrested at Mary Breckinridge Hospital in Hyden Stidham posted bond and Was released from the Gay County Jail He is charged with second-degree manslaughter first-degree assault driving under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of an accident Kentucky State Police Trooper Gilbert
