Can you test out instruments at Guitar Center? ›

At our guitar shops, you can pick up and test out everything available in the store.

The benefits can outweigh the expense for those who are committed to their musical goals. Keep in mind though, you will be limited in your growth if you are just learning to play music in a 1 on 1 setting all the time. There are many benefits to playing music in a group setting alongside taking private lessons.

They pay around 50%-60% of used value. So if you paid $2200 they probably paid $1100-1300. And this isn't unique to Guitar Center—this is pretty standard for a trade-in value at guitar shops.

When you buy your instrument at a local music store, you get hands-on experience with the actual instrument before you buy it. Put it to the test and give it a thorough test drive. Experience how the instrument feels in your hands, reacts to your touch, and how it sounds.
